Capabilities
- Interior Lighting Design
- At PSA we are especially attentive and sensitive to providing designs
that are aesthetically pleasing to the architect/owner and that at the same time
provide illumination levels compliant with IES Standards. PSA has utilized
computerized design tools for its system designs since 1971 when the company
was first created. This use has expanded from relatively simple in-house
zonal cavity method lighting calculation programs to incorporation of
various vendor programs for specialized applications. These programs are all
resident on PSA's computers and allow PSA's staff to efficiently generate
accurate interior lighting systems designs that utilize the most efficient
fixture/lamp combinations for the intended function.
- Exterior Lighting Design
- PSA has extensive experience in the design of exterior lighting
systems; the most common of which are the designs of outdoor sports
facilities including college level football stadium lighting and
professional baseball field lighting. Our most recent projects of note include the SBC Bricktown Ballpark in the “Bricktown” area of Oklahoma City and the current
Boone Pickens Stadium Renovation for Oklahoma State University in Stillwater,
Oklahoma.
- Power Distribution Design
- PSA's experience in power distribution design is varied and vast.
Variation extends from the simplistic involving typical building project
distribution with 208Y/120v and 480Y/277v power distribution systems to studies and design of
15KV rated distribution system extensions for industrial facilities or
municipalities. Designs generated by the firm range from the design of
electrical systems for municipal water or sewage treatment facilities to the
design of specialized system for healthcare, broadcast, worldwide
reservation facilities with large emergency generator/UPS systems, and cold
storage/freezer facilities where designs must accommodate equipment
installed and later serviced in a minus 20 degree environment.
- Specifications
- PSA uses MASTERSPEC®® master
specifications for all of its projects. These specifications are updated
quarterly in order to reflect changes in the industry and changes in the
manufacturers of products.
- CAD (Computer Aided Drafting)
- PSA has utilized CAD for producing construction documents for over 17
years. The first project accomplished using CAD systems was begun
in 1985. PSA was fully converted to the use of CAD by 1989 and
currently utilizes AutoCAD 2000i®
for all projects. Reproduction of our plans is accomplished by a
high-speed laser plotter that is backed up by ink-jet plotting systems.
